Meet Your Doula: Alison, CPD
Building a ripple effect of calm and confidence in your family with personalized, intentional, early support.
My Philosophy: Evidence-informed Compassionate Support
I believe that every parent deserves to feel nurtured and respected during the transition into parenthood. The first weeks postpartum set the stage for your family's dynamic, and my goal is to protect that transition with practical, emotional, and informational support. The wealth of information before, during, and after your birth can be overwhelming. Through intentional, thoughtful, and evidence-informed planning, you can spend those early weeks bonding with your baby and adjusting to your new relationships and routine. My focus is on empowering you and your family to make decisions that align with your family values.
My qualifications include:
- Certified Postpartum Doula (CBI)
- Certified Infant & Adult CPR & AED (American Heart Association)
- Certified Mental Health First Aider (NCMW)
- Level 1 End of Life Doula & Family Caregiver Doulagivers Institute
- Licensed Short-Call Teacher (Pre-K to Adult through MN PELSB)
- Currently enrolled in Lactation Counselor Certification (CBI) estimated completion March 2026
- Currently enrolled in Birth Doula Certification (CBI) estimated completion March 2026
We are insured and pending registration through the Minnesota Department of Health. We accept FSA/HSA payments and can also provide invoice receipts for reimbursement purposes.
We also specialize in lactation care. Parents who receive doula support are twice as likely to be successful in their breastfeeding journey. In the U.S., most babies (around 83-84%) start breastfeeding, but success drops off quickly, with about 25% exclusively breastfeeding at 6 months and fewer at 12 months, well below Healthy People 2030 targets. These numbers support the need for consistent breastfeeding support through the postpartum period. Having nursed my own three babies, I understand that every baby's nursing journey is unique and does not present without challenges. Supporting new families through this journey is a key part of my practice.
When I'm not supporting families, you can find me adventuring with my family, experimenting with new sourdough recipes in the kitchen, or curled up with a good self-help book.
